Fine Victorian Silver Bracelet This is a lovely example of Victorian Silver jewellery from the 1860′s – the style is typical of the period – covered in traditional foilate engraving and the design emulating the flat collars of “book” chains that grand silver lockets were suspended from. I would say this is early 1860′s rather than later, looking at the engraving style which has no evidence of the “Japonism” craze that would start to infiltrate later in the decade. This wonderful, oversized, wide bracelet is in fantastic condition, probably due to the heavy grade/gauge of silver used. It fastens with a sturdy box and tongue and the engraving work is outstanding. I love the two hearts on the box fastener. There are no dings or dints to the front of the bracelet, just some minor pin pricks to the rear.
