If you have been collecting watches for a while, I think youre going to appreciate the following sophisticated antique timepiece that is hard to find nowadays. This good looking watch, which was manufactured at the beginning of XX century. This watch is prized for reliability, convenience in use, and meets relatively seldom. This elegant wristwatch was converted from pocket watch!! He patented the Hebdomas 8 day watch in January 1889. The tradename is still in use today with both pocket watches and wristwatches available. It was used on 8 day watches with a visible balance wheel. At first these 8 day watches were all made by hand. Hebdomas watches won gold medals in Chacago 1892, Geneva 1896, Paris 1900, Milan 1906 and Brussels 1910. In 1915, the patent and tradename was transferred to Schild & Cie, the new name for the Graizely & Cie company! This beautiful mechanical wristwatch has. An original pocket watch movement with 6 jewels. The 8-Days power reserve mechanism is in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. This watch has been professionally serviced and is in good running order. Please understand this is an antique, collectors timepiece and being so it will not keep exact, to the second time as a new timepiece would. “Spiral Breguet” means that in the regulator of the watch is applied isochronous hairspring with a curl, design of which was developed and calculated by Brege! The movement (under the dial) is signed :” HEBDOMAS”. Serial number of the movement. Incredibly beautiful Oversized, massive solid silver 0.925 case. In good overall cosmetic condition, with soft signs of age and regular wear. Case converted from pocket watch!!! The case have crown for winding and setting on 12 o’clock position. See photos for details!! The movement is completely covered by its gilt mainspring cover signed : 8 JOURS ANCRE SPIRAL BREGUET LEVEES VISIBLES QUALITE SUPERIEURE GARANTIE. The cover is also decorated with four medals and signed : PARIS 1900 GENEVE 1896 CHICAGO 1892 MILAN 1906. These watches have originally been made in a variant of a pocket watch. And in a consequence have been altered in a variant for convenience of carrying on a hand!! The large winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly! Diameter watch without the crown: 47 mm. Diameter watch with the crown: 56 mm. Thickness watch: 16 mm. This unique and rare mark of timepiece features. An original white porcelain enamel dial, decorated with silver inlay. The dial is in good overall cosmetic condition, only has one hadrly visible hairline. The porcelain enamel dial features black Roman numerals and steel Spade-style hands. The beautiful unusual dial with an opening at the bottom of the dial has an exposed engraved bridge with balance and regulator that makes it possible to expose the balance wheel and pallet-fork. The engraving of the bridge balance is made manually! The beautiful dial is marked. As well as” HEBDOMAS PATENT / SWISS MADE”. The watch comes with mineral dome crystal!
