The clasp is a pretty feature too and the stones are decorated around the total length of the neck so a beautiful necklace from all angles (not just the front). The sparkling paste stones glisten and shimmer like real gems which is the reason why they were so favoured by aristocracy of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This is all original set in sterling silver which has been acid tested to confirm. The drop of the paste pendant is 2 1/2 inches the spread is 1 1/4 inches.
