Antique VICTORIAN Solid SILVER Mourning LOCKET Brooch Prince of Wales Hair Curl. A visually stunning, rare, 19th century solid silver mourning locket brooch. The silver is unmarked as was often the case during the period; however it has been professionally jeweller tested. As a long time collector of period mourning jewellery, I had never seen a brooch like this before. It has been exquisitely made by a skilled Victorian silversmith, showing all the’pomp and circumstance’ of an important mourning piece. One is sufficiently impressed with the hugely elaborate front decor; it is then even more captivating to see the mourning locket back. Laid on a ribbed cream silk interior is a beautifully set Prince of Wales hair curl, complete with seed pearls and gold wiring. All immaculate with original glass. The silver tube hinge, pin and’c’ catch are all original and in good working order. Measurements: 1.9″ by 1.5″. In good antique condition; please see all photographs (which can be supersized). Lovely Victorian Scottish Solid Silver & Malachite Brooch, 1880s. Here is a lovely victorian scottish solid silver & malachite brooch. The brooch measures nearly two inches in diameterand is all set in solid silver, although not marked tested & guarranteed victorian silver. The brooch has a lovely rusched oval roundel style & a lovely design star central design with early engravings and all inset with flat cut polished real malachite, with its lovely green colour & natural markings. The brooch has a Cclasp but is missing its pin, which can be easily replaced and dates to around the 1880s, when scottish jewellery was at its height and this is a lovely example, but as with age & wear it does have some nibbles & cracks to the agate, see pics. This really is a lovely victorian brooch in very good origional complete condition as stated and such a nice example of these. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Lovely Georgian Solid Silver & Black Dot Diamond Paste Brooch. Here is a fabulous rare georgian solid silver & black dot diamond paste brooch. The brooch measures half an inch by nearly one & a quarter inches and is all set in solid silver, although not marked tested & guarranteed solid silver. This brooch is so lovely set in a beautiful solid thick silver mount and then pave set are fabulous black dot paste stones to look like diamonds, but as with this quality paste they really dazzle, as the quality and they are faceted & pave set. On the back is a pin and Cclasp working well and this brooch is totally origional to the georgian period and as such has some wear and what looks to be a glue mark on one, but certainly nothing that detracts, see pics. This really is a lovely georgian brooch in very good origional complete condition that looks so lovely worn and such a quality early example of these that are getting harder to find now. Please note in the pics, what you can see either end are just natural gaps. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Here I have an incredible Victorian solid silver brooch, in the shape of a lizard. His body is set with seed pearls and there’s a tiny ruby for each of his eyes. He’s beautifully made – if you look closely you can see his little forked tongue! It fastens with a c-clasp and is unmarked but tests as solid silver. Measures 4.7cm x 2.0cm. It weighs 11.2 grams. Here I have a beautiful Victorian solid silver brooch, in the shape of a lizard. His body is set with white paste closed-back stones. He’s beautifully made – if you look closely the sides of his body and legs have been give a rough lizaardy texture and he even has little pastes set in his eyes. One of his little feet form a loop to hold the end of a safety chain, though you could probably put a bale ring through there too if you want to wear him as a pendant. It fastens with a c-clasp and is unmarked but tests as solid silver. Measures 4.5cm x 2.4cm. It weighs 13.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No missing stones – most have dulled/yellowed with age but he still has a decent sparkle. Overall, he just has the usual light surface marks and tarnish which you’d expect on an antique item. This is a very pretty and interesting painted miniature brooch or pendant in a solid silver. The mount is marked. 800 for silver and this was typically used in Continental Europe in the 19th century. The beautiful painting is in neoclassical style and of a woman. It is signed but it’s difficult to make out as it’s partly obscured my the mount, I think it’s either Eiizzoni or Fiizzoni so it would appear to be Italian but I haven’t been able to find the name. The rear of the pendanr has not only a pin but also a loop to allow it to be used as a pendant making it a very versatile item of jewllery. It measures 28mm by 36mm, approx. It weighs 7.6 grams, approx. This fine brooch/pendant of a beautiful woman in a silver oval mount would make a great addition to any collection or could be used everyday. It would also make a wonderful unique gift. Here I have my antique Georgian silver and gold brooch. It’s set with amazing pste stones around the edge and the inner circle part is made of gold, with delicate engraved details. The back is silver and it fastens with a c-clasp. Think it may have started off life as a buckle? Measures 4.1cm by 3.2cm. Weighs 15.1 grams. In lovely antique condition – no missing stones and they all appear to be in good condition. A few arent quite as sparkly as they once would have been but overall it’s in great order.
