Stunning Edwardian Rare Large Solid Silver & Rock Crystal Brooch. Here is the most stunning rare edwardian solid silver & rock crystal brooch. The brooch is large measuring approx two inches by two & a quarter inches & is all set in solid silver, although not marked where i can see, tested & guarranteed solid silver. The brooch has a fabulous design which looks like a flower with ten outer sections, all approx just over a quarter of an inch by half inch in their solid silver settings & inset with real rare rock crystal its quite fabulous all faceted and securely claw set on their individual silver collet mounts and open backed to appreciate the quality with a lovely quality sparkle & catching pools of light. In the centre is a large matching large rock crystal measuring approx one inch by nearly one & a quarter inches again in the same setting. The brooch has a pin & Cclasp working well & it also has a silver bail attatched which is for a safety chain, so i have left it on for easy access to put one on and this brooch dates to the victorian edwardian era and just has wear as you would associate with age but certainly nothing that detracts in any way from this piece. These pieces are getting harder to find today & this brooch is the best example i have ever seen in rock crystal with its size & fabulous condition. This really is the most beautiful antique rock crystal brooch in very good origional complete condition, that looks absolutely stunning worn and a really fine quality example of these, that is as wearable today as when it was fist made & very eyecatching & spectacular. The sphere of Rock Crystal is held within a cage of silver which encases from one tipped point to the other about 2/3s of the stone; the stone twists around but I think you’d have to work hard to get it to pop out! As with all true Rock Crystal orbs, it flips and magnifies text when you read through it. There’s a good size bale at the top and it hangs on a more recent 22 sterling rope chain. The pendant is unmarked but tests as solid silver. The chain is marked STERLING by the clasp. The stone measures 2.0cm wide. With the bale at the top, it’s total length is 3.5cm. It weighs 21.2 grams with the chain. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Just the usual light marks to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. Stunning Edwardian Solid Silver & Rare Rock Crystal Articulated Drop Necklace. Here is the most stunning rare edwardian solid silver & rock crystal articulated drop necklace. The necklace measures approx sixteen inches all the way round & is all set in solid silver. The necklace has a silver chain which goes round to seven drops which nicely graduate in size, with the largest being over half inch in diameter & are all inset with what looks to be top quality paste from the era, but it looks to be rare rock crystal, either way its quite fabulous all faceted and securely claw set on their individual silver mounts and open backed to appreciate the quality with a lovely quality sparkle & catching lights. Each setting is connected by a long silver link, which slides through the back of the mount making them articulated and freely moveable of a quality piece. The necklace has a good quality bolt ring clasp and the necklace is clearly marked for sterling silver and also the early mark which says silver and this necklace dates to the victorian edwardian era and just has wear as you would associate with age but certainly nothing that detracts in any way from this piece. These necklaces are getting harder to find today & this necklace came with a similiar one at the time, but apart from that i have not seen a similiar for years.
