ANOTHER GREAT ANTIQUE WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE. SERVICED BY MY WATCH MAKER AND RUNNING WELL!! Albert Silas Cullum, Warrant Number 87943. Joined on 4 Nov 1901, and left on 23 March 1907. Last posted to S Division as a PC. This is a beautiful and VERY heavy solid English Sterling silver three piece watch case. The back of the case has a NON engraved hand finished cartouche. The engine turning is worn somewhat from normal wear useage. I can see only some small dings to the case back and the coin edge sides and just some normal wear marks here and there. The case front opens and the movement comes out from the front on a hinge. On opening the case the inside is hallmarked with the Lion Passant the Assay mark for Birmingham and the letter’g’. The case shines well. The case back pushes to and’snaps’ into position. The dust cover is in lovely condition with some light scratches around the key winding hole. There is a beautifully engraved inscription which says’Presented to P. Albert Cullum by the officers & men of the Finchley Sub Division Met Police as a mark of esteem on his retirement through ill health 22nd March 1907′ The sides of the case have a lovely COIN EDGED finish. The double hinges are silver and are in excellent condition. The bezel is in excellent condition. The casemakers initials are’W. S’ This LARGE watch case measures 5.2cms or 52mm in diameter! The watch and movement weigh in at an EXTREMELY HEAVY 133.6 grams. This is a really good excellent condition solid thick STERLING ENGLISH silver watch case! This beautiful pocket watch has a bright white BIG enamel dial. The dial is in EXCELLENT condition showing no noticeable damage or cracks. The dial is FULLY SIGNED’The National English Lever Kendal & Dent London Makers to the Admiralty’. The dial has lovely sharp black painted Roman numerals which show no wear. The dial is unsigned. The golden steel antique’Spade’ design hands are in good order. There is a good condition blue steel sub second hand. The crystal is brand new and as such is in excellent condition. This is an excellent dial. When the watch is opened from the front, it reveals a beautiful and very clean gilt English lever movement numbered 32542, complete with its original dust cover. It is an extremely good quality piece of precision engineering. It has been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. There are lovely minty blued steel screws. The movement is operating very well. It winds smoothly, sets easily and is sprightly from the 1st full key wind. The watch has kept good time as tested over a 12 hour period. This beautiful and rare watch is complete with a thick SOLID SILVER double Albert chain with silver T bar. The chain weighs a heavy 62.10 grams. It measures 14 and a 1/2 inches in total length and is in excellent condition. The date mark seems to be London 1914 so it is a little later than the watch. It compliments this fine Police Officers retirement watch superbly! THIS IS FABULOUS ITEM WHICH IS READY TO WEAR/USE OR GIVE AS A VALUED GIFT FOR XMAS TO HAND DOWN TO YOUR FAMILY GENERATIONS.
