Here I have my antique Victorian full length guard or muff chain. It’s made of solid 800 grad silver and it fastens with a dog clip. Has the original slide which is in a lovely design typical of the Jugendstil period, and set with a garnet paste cabochon. Stamped 800 on the ring by the dog clip. Length is 56 not including the clip. Weighs 32.7 grams. In lovely antique condition as per the pics – no damage. A very nice antique silver muff chain. Containing 21 coins and tokens from around the world, 14 of which are engraved love tokens I have photographed a few of these individually. Chain and clasp stamped for 800 grade silver, coins are of various silver grades. Good condition, one of the most interesting and finest examples of a muff chain I have come across. Circa 1915 but could be of an older date, with coins added through out. The most modern coin dates to 1912 the oldest being a Kind George the IV shilling Circa 1825. Weight: 101.5 g. Here I have an antique Victorian solid silver 57 long guard / muff chain with bolt ring fastener. It features unusual fancy lozenge shaped links – it has a feintly stamped hallmark on one of the links but I’m certain it’s French in origin. Tests as solid silver. The bolt ring is also silver, except for the little sliding ball which you move back and forth with your nail, that is the only part which is brass. The chain is 5mm wide and it weighs 40.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No dinks or damage. Just has the usual light marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ.
