A stunning Solid silver and enamel pendant depicting a beautiful butterfly with exquisitely detailed veining on the wings, visible under the Blue Purple Enamel. The piece is fully signed to the back with the distinctive CH punch. Probably dated to 1911, it is typical of the arts and crafts art nouveau designs commissioned by Liberty & Co Store from the best of the worlds designers. Its typical of Liberty & Co pieces of that era. There were several designers using this medium of design during this era, amongst those the most notable were, Merle und Mayer, Patriz Huber, Archibald Knox, Jessie M King, Theador Fahmer, Charles Horner, James Fenton & Murrie Bennet. Liberty pieces were produced by Heselers of Birmingham, these were the only silversmiths working for Liberty & Co and they produced the Cymric Silver ware range and tudric pewter range. It measures just over 1 across the wing tips and is suspended from an 18 hallmarked Silver chain.
