Alexander Ritchie of Iona – Solid Silver Celtic Cross Pendant. The cross is fully hallmarked for Glasgow 1929 along with the AR Iona stamp. The Glasgow assay office was only used by Ritchie for a short period from around 1912 to 1930. It is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina – please see the pictures for an accurate representation of condition, front and back. Each arm of the cross is designed with celtic knotwork detail to a central scrolled boss. The dimensions across the arms are 60mm, or 74mm with the bail. It weighs 33g – just over a Troy oz. This cross is dated three years later, but has the benefit of a decorated bail instead of a plain one. This style of Ritchie cross – the Maltese/Celtic style rather than the Christian style cross is becoming increasingly scarce with very few of them appearing on the open market. Fabulous Modernist Danish Solid Silver Celtic Sword Brooch, CLE. Here is a really fabulous modernist solid silver danish celtic sword brooch. The brooch measures threequarters of an inch by two & a half inches & is all made of solid silver. The brooch is really lovely & depicts a sword with the most beautiful celtic engravings all over it in really quality detail. On the back is & pin & Cclasp working well & it is clearly marked for 925 for silver & CLE for the renowned quality danish maker & dates around the 1960-70s. This really is a lovely modernist danish celtic brooch in excellant origional complete condition & a really lovely quality rare example. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history.
