Lovely Victorian Solid Silver & Scottish Agate Gem Brooch, 1880

Lovely Victorian Solid Silver & Scottish Agate Gem Brooch, 1880. Here is a large victorian scottish solid silver agate & gemstone brooch. The brooch measures one & threequarter inches in diameter and is all made of solid silver & unusually is clearly marked for sterling silver. This brooch is circular with rusched edges and then beautifully engraved in solid silver with nice detail. Inlaid into this six panels of flat cut real scottish agate of bloodstone, carnelian and others. In a typical perced raised centre is a fabulous scottish cairngorm stone, which is around threequarters of an inch in diameter, faceted and claw set and a lovely warm colour. On the back is a pin and rolling CClasp working well with the Cclasp being replaced at some time as it would not have been a rolling one origionally and it dates to the victorian era & with age it has nibbles as you would expect & the stone is slightly off centre, but certainly nothing that detracts, see pics. This really is a lovely antique brooch in condition as stated and a lovely example of these. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Please remember that due to your computer’s screen settings, in real life the item may not match the colour you see here. My photos are NEVER to scale so please check the actual measurements below. Here I have an antique solid silver shield shaped locket pendant. It features an engraved horses head with branches to the sides on the front and ivy leaves to the back. This reversible style was known as a day & night locket as you could swap the sides over when it came to changing in to your evening-wear. The horse side is quite lightly engraved, which made it extremely tricky to capture in the photos! The detail is finer in real life, than I could capture in the pics. There are no innards to this locket, but if you could the pics to the right size, they should stay put. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 3.0cm high and 2.2cm wide. With the bale, it’s total length is 3.7cm. It weighs 6.8 grams. Condition: Good uncleaned antique condition. Some minor dinks and pressure marks front and back, commensurate with its age. Snaps shut nicely and stays closed as it should. Just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. Antique VICTORIAN Solid SILVER Mourning LOCKET Brooch Prince of Wales Hair Curl. A visually stunning, rare, 19th century solid silver mourning locket brooch. The silver is unmarked as was often the case during the period; however it has been professionally jeweller tested. As a long time collector of period mourning jewellery, I had never seen a brooch like this before. It has been exquisitely made by a skilled Victorian silversmith, showing all the’pomp and circumstance’ of an important mourning piece. One is sufficiently impressed with the hugely elaborate front decor; it is then even more captivating to see the mourning locket back. Laid on a ribbed cream silk interior is a beautifully set Prince of Wales hair curl, complete with seed pearls and gold wiring. All immaculate with original glass. The silver tube hinge, pin and’c’ catch are all original and in good working order. Measurements: 1.9″ by 1.5″. In good antique condition; please see all photographs (which can be supersized). Solid Silver (9ct Gold Gilt Finish) Victorian Hinged Buckle Bangle in good condition. Full hallmarks for Birmingham 1884. It has a raised buckle design to the front and plain finis to the back. The condition is good for a vintage bangle thats over 133 years old, only a couple of minor dents to the rear as to be expected with age, nothing major what so ever. Width 19 mm Inside circumference measures 6.75 inches around. Weight 31.3 grams (1 full ounce). It clips firmly with a push to open clip. Lovely Victorian Scottish Solid Silver & Malachite Brooch, 1880s. Here is a lovely victorian scottish solid silver & malachite brooch. The brooch measures nearly two inches in diameterand is all set in solid silver, although not marked tested & guarranteed victorian silver. The brooch has a lovely rusched oval roundel style & a lovely design star central design with early engravings and all inset with flat cut polished real malachite, with its lovely green colour & natural markings. The brooch has a Cclasp but is missing its pin, which can be easily replaced and dates to around the 1880s, when scottish jewellery was at its height and this is a lovely example, but as with age & wear it does have some nibbles & cracks to the agate, see pics. This really is a lovely victorian brooch in very good origional complete condition as stated and such a nice example of these.
