This delightful locket dates from around 1880 and is sterling silver, unmarked but tests fine. The chain is 24 inches, sterling silver too and the catch is strong the chain dates to around the 1930′s. The locket is in good condition and it closes tightly. It measures 3.1cm (1 1/4 inch) across by 4.2cm (just over 1 1/2 inch) down not including the bail and together with the chain weighs 27.5g. The locket has raised letters AEI on the front, this stands for Affinity, Eternity, and Infinity. This was a popular type of love token among the Victorians.
