For sale this super rare, and perhaps UNIQUE Longines Rattrapante Split seconds chronograph solid silver NIELLO pocket watch made in the 1913. Caliber Longines 19.73. Big oversized 53 mm diameter without crown case. This watch is super rare in reason this is the unique rattrapante, split seconds chronograph made on a niello case, authentic and fully original Niello case, not recased, fully original from factory. Many Longines rattrapante were made of solid gold, steel, or silver, but never Niello. You can research on the internet, catalogues, and you will confirm this is super rare, and perhaps UNIQUE. Unfortunately the dial has one small dent (restored) and Niello case is not in excellent condition, but it is a super rare pocket watch, moreover the movement is in excellent working condition and the dial is without scratches and hairlines, the fault is one dent (restored) between 1 to 2 positions. This Niello case has 14K solid gold parts: small gold detent on the back case corner to open this back case, and another similar small gold detent on frontal bezel corner to open this frontal bezel. All pictures are fully original, never retouched as part of a better description process. FUNCTIONS: Hour, minutes, seconds, 1/5 seconds, 30 minute recorder, chronograph, rattrapante (split seconds). DIAL: Authentic and original Longines Rattrapante, Split seconds chronograph dial. It is a white glass enameled porcelain dial, it is “Longines”, “20 jewels” marked. 1/5 racing seconds divisions. Red numerals 30 minute recorder at 12, these numerals are starting from 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 27 and 30. Red numerals for small seconds at 6. Blued steel pear hands. All hands are fully originals. This dial is without hairlines, scratches, but this dial has a restored small dent between 1 to 2. Glass in very good condition. Small pusher at 1 position to set hands. Small pusher in crown at 12 to chronograph and rattrapante function. Rectangular pusher at 11 to set rattrapante function. CASE: Authentic and original Longines Niello open face pocket watch case made of fine and solid 0,900 silver, and with small 14K gold parts. The Niello decoration is partially absent, but looks nice yet. This Niello decoration is extremely hard to find in a Longines rattrapante, split seconds watch, or other. Hinged frontal bezel, hinged back case. On the external cuvette part it is “Longines”, 5 medals figure, “6 Grands Prix Paris – Anvers – Paris”, “Bruxelles”, “Milan”, “Berne” , seven medals, “Chronographe Compteuer – Rattrapante” marked, inside it is “0,900″ (solid silver 0,900) and “2863420″ (serial number) marked. This watch has been made in 1913 according to specialized Longines catalogue. Case measures: diameter without crown 53 mm (52, 97 mm). This super rare case is a Niello decorated. This Niello decoration is not in very good condition. Look pictures, but it is in fully 100% original condition, and it looks very nice.
