Here is an excellent condition and very nice looking antique mechanical pocket watch made in 1895 by Illinois Watch Co. This watch is in excellent condition and features a white double sunk dial / face with bold Gothic style Arabic numerals and lettering, as well as blue metallic hands. The 21 ruby jewel movement is running and accurate, housed in a Fahy’s solid sterling silver (925/1000) case in near flawless condition. 18s / 18 size (about 2.25 not including stem). 21j / 21 jewels. This watch would make a great gift for someone who appreciates fine American pocket watches. Message me with any questions/offers. Fitted into the base of this beautiful desk stand is a GENUINE and original IWC SHAUFFHAUSEN CAL 65 H6.5 19 LIGNE FULLY SIGNED POCKET WATCH MOVEMENT AND DIAL. The dial on this beautiful watch is FULLY SIGNED and so is the movement. The movement is a chronometer grade with micrometric adjustment. This white dial shows several hairlines from the center. The outside chapter ring seems to be SOLID SILVER and apart from a little tarnish is in very good condition. It has BLACK ARABIC numerals. There is a subsecond dial which is in excellent condition. The hands are gold in color and are also in good condition. The hinged case back underneath the desk stand base is in good condition and is unsigned and not marked for its quality of metal. I think it is silver but cannot guarantee this. The case back snaps to but there is a knack to it as the hinge is a little loose. On the back of the stand there is a 900 silver mark and another mark (probably a Swiss control mark) that is rubbed and I cannot decipher. The IWC INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO WATCH FITTED INTO THIS STAND HAS JUST BEEN FULLY SERVICED AND IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. It keeps time to within a few mins per day. The watch is wound by an extended winder on the back of the piece. It is pin set for altering the hands to time from a pin set on the side of the stand. I have never ever seen the like of this desk stand before and it is a very rare item. THE DESK STAND MEASURES 10.5 CMS (105mm) IN LENGTH AND 9 CMS (90MM) IN TOTAL WIDTH. Patek Philippe commemorative medal, designed by Georges Hantz, 1901. Front with portraits of Antoni Norbert de Patek and Adrien Philippe, against a watch dial, Philippe framed by a laurel garland and Patek by oak leaves, reverse with Patek Philippes commemorative plaque surrounded by laurel garlands. Excellent condition, original box. Signed Georges Hantz on the vers and “GH” on the front. George Hantz was born 1846 in Chaux-de-Fonds. After apprenticing as an engraver and chaser he went to Geneva; in 1884 he was appointed director of the new Musée des Arts décoratifs and built up a large collection and an extensive library for the museum over the next 30 years. Hantz never lost interest in engraving and created a number of coins for special occasions. He died in 1920. Don’t forget to look my other items. I can accept wire transfers within EU.
