Exquisite Antique Rare Large Solid Silver Cherub/Putti Riding Dolphin Brooch. Here is the most exquisite anntique rare solid silver cherub riding dolphin brooch. The brooch is large measuring two inches by just over two & threequarter inches & is all made of solid silver. This brooch is absolutely exquisite & i have never seen another like it of this delightful subject. The brooch depicts a cherub/putti riding a dolphin in really beautiful engraved detail. On the back it has a pin & Cclasp working well & it is clearly marked for early silver mark & dates to around the victorian/edwardian era & just needs a polish but i have left it as it is. This really is a beautiful antique brooch in very good origional complete condition of a beautiful subject & a rare example of these. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. This brooch is large measuring two & a quarter inches in diameter & all made of solid silver. This brooch is truly outstanding & one of a kind which i have never seen one like this before. It has a rusched border with typical early engravings in a matt silver & then raised sections with very pretty fine filigree work in really lovely detail. The brooch has a early pin & Cclasp working well & looks to date around the art deco era & is clearly marked 830s for solid silver & is norwegian in origin but unfortunately i cannot see a makers mark. This really is a fabulous early brooch in excellant origional complete condition & most certainly one for the serious collector & a rare example. A rare find and in such lovely condition for this exceptional 19th century French past and solid silver necklace. Excellent quality expertly made! This necklace is so pretty and feminine- Lovely Old Cut open backed FIREY glass paste Stones that sparkle like pale sapphires & diamonds – all collet set into fine galleried settings. The clasp is a pretty feature too and the stones are decorated around the total length of the neck so a beautiful necklace from all angles & not just the front. It has a main statement centre drop too! The sparkling paste stones glisten and shimmer like real gems which is the reason why they were so favoured by the aristocracy of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This is all original set in solid silver which has been tested to confirm. (Unmarked as is usual for this period of jewellery). The drop of the paste pendant is 2 1/2 inches the spread is 1 1/4 inches. The total necklace measures around 16 inches around the neck with clasp closed.
