Often referred to as’sunday best watch chains’ this type of chain first appeared in the 1890′s & where worn mostly by ladies as an alternative to a guard chain to wear a fob watch. This example is in beautiful condition, with 5 graduated chains joined to a central panel leading to side section hung with an ornate silver tassel. Marked sterling silver on hook & also has been acid tested for silver. Could be worn as a bracelet or added too to wear as necklace. Or just to have as an excellent example.
