925 STERLING SILVER BYZANTINE (BALI CHAIN) BRACELET. These Byzantine chain bracelets are handmade in Bali. They are made from Sterling Silver, this means that they are 92.5% silver. Silver is stamped 925 for this reason. All our items are stamped. All the silver items we sell are guaranteed Sterling Silver. This style is known by a number of names including. Byzantine Chain, probably because the design looks a little complex. Bali Chain, because it is a very popular, traditional design in Bali & is often associated with the island. Borobudur, named after a ruined Buddhist temple complex in the neighbouring island of Java. The weights of the bracelets vary from about 10 grams for the narrower, lighter, 3.1mm bracelets to about 41 grams for the thicker, longer. The prices are roughly based on weight. The exact weight of any particular bracelet can be given if requested. The lengths of the bracelets are the lengths of the bracelet when laid out flat, to the nearest 0.2 or 0.5cm. Here I have a vintage solid silver locket pendant. It’s beautifully decorated on the front with a guilloche enamel design, depicting pinky mauve roses on a cobalt blue background. Inside, there’s room for 2 photos which sit behind the silver lip that runs around the edge. As with many vintage pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. It hangs on a more recent 25 sterling silver chain. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 4.2cm high and 3.1cm wide. With the split ring at the top, it’s total length is 5.0cm. It weighs 17.8 grams with the chain. Condition: Very good uncleaned vintage condition. The enamel has a few light surface scratches which are only visible on close inspection and there’s been a professional repair to a chip to one edge… It’s been very well done so is only visible to someone who knows what they’re looking for (illustrated in last pic). The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. The silver just has the usual light surface marks and tarnish which you’d expect on a vintage item, including a few light pressure marks to the back. International buyers PLEASE READ.
