Under the auspices of Clarence House, The Perth Mint is proud to unveil Australias official gold commemorative coin in honour of the birth of His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, became proud parents of their first child on 22 July 2013 at St Marys Hospital in London, with millions of people sharing in their joy. Proof Quality 99.99% Pure Gold. The HRH Prince George 2013-dated coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/4oz of 99.99% pure gold in beautiful proof quality. Issued as Australian legal tender, the coins obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination. The reverse of the coin depicts a beautifully sculpted portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge cradling and gazing lovingly at their newborn baby. The image is encircled by a sculpted ribbon tied in a bow supporting a delicate bouquet of acorns and fleur de lys symbols from the Duke and Duchess Coats of Arms. The inscription IN CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTH OF HRH PRINCE GEORGE, the birth date and The Perth Mints P mintmark are also included in the design. Beautiful Packaging and Numbered Certificate. In excellent condition, a very rare suite of George Jensen jewellery dating from the early fifties. A bracelet, ring and clip on earrings in a flower design, set with a central coral. The warmth of the coral works very well with the silver and the set looks delightful on. The bracelet bears full London marks, dating it to 1951, this is in addition to the Jensen marks and the mark of their London shop. It is 7 inch long and 3/4 inch wide. The earrings are approx 3/4 inch diameter. Design no 49 and bear post 1945 marks. The ring is a similar size with similar marks. Size O and could be resized.
