Stunning Art Noveau Quality Large Solid Silver & Amethyst Dragonfly Brooch. Here is the most stunning rare art nouveau quality large solid silver & amethyst dragonfly brooch. The brooch measures two & threequarter inches by three inches & is all made of solid silver, not marked where i can see, but tested & guarranteed antique silver. This brooch is really quite fabulous & depicts a dragonfly with really lovely engraved detail & the wings are all inset with amethysts which could be faux but look fabulous, faceted & collet set with a good strong purple colour. On the back is a pin & Cclasp working well & in some parts it looks quite crudely made & looks to be art nouveau but could be later, but most certainly is vintage & unfortunately is not signed where i can see, but certainly is a unusually made piece. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Here I have an antique Victorian solid silver locket pendant. It’s beautifully engraved with a different design on the front and back, known as a day and night locket; the front is of “summer” with a spray of forget-me-nows and foliage amongst a scalloped border, the back is “winter” with ivy leaves and an empty cartouche in the centre for the engraving of initials. Even the edge of the locket is engraved with a chevron design. Inside, there’s space for 2 photos behind removable silver frames. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 4.3cm high and 3.5cm wide. With the ring at the top, it’s total length is 5.7cm. It weighs 14.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No dinks or damage. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. Just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. FINEST Large Antique VICTORIAN Solid SILVER Scottish AGATE Inlaid Pendant Locket. An exceptional, large, Victorian silver locket, inlaid with stunning Scottish agate. From a private collection in Aberdeen. Not hallmarked, as common during the period, but professionally tested and guaranteed sterling silver. The whole locket case has been beautifully chased by a highly skilled silversmith; the front is inlaid with Scottish agate; carnelian segments top and bottom, bloodstone left and right and montrose agate to centre. The highly ornate silver back has a vacant cartouche to base where initials can be engraved if desired. Inside the locket is all original; ribbed navy material inners, glass and silver frames. Locket has a good firm closure. Bail to top for wear on a chain. Measurements: 2″ by 1.1″ (including bail). This beautiful piece has been well looked after and will grace any collection of period Scottish jewellery. See all photos which can be supersized for ultra clear viewing of item and its condition.
