Here I have an antique Victorian silver locket pendant. It’s beautifully engraved with a different design on the front and back, known as a day and night locket; the front depicts a swallow flying below wonderfully detailed plant fronds and a circle representing the sun. The back has a larger swallow flying amongst grasses. Inside, there’s space for 2 photos – one of the little removable frames is present, the other has been lost but if you cut the pic to the right size, there’s a lip of silver which it’ll sit behind so it stays put. It contains a previous owners black and white photo of a handsome chap at a wedding. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 3.5cm high and 3.5cm wide. With the ring at the top, it’s total length is 4.8cm. It weighs 11.9 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No dinks or damage. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it shuts nicely. Just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ.
