Victorian Scottish Solid Silver Agate Pebble Bracelet w Ornate Heart Padlock. Queen Victoria inadvertently attracted tourism to Scotland when she set up house in Balmoral in the 1840s. Her move, coupled with the development of the railways, gave the Scottish season popularity and triggered off the manufacture of local jewellery made of agate or Scottish pebbles (as it is popularly known) to sell to the visitors. This stunning Celtic sterling silver (unmarked but acid tested) banded agate bracelet dates to the Victorian period and probably brought back as a souvenir for a loved one. The bracelet is handcrafted. We have 6 polished pleasing banded agate panels with silver decorated fittings. There is a great tactile feel to it…… You just want to touch it and hold it in your hand…. Or put it quickly round your wrist. But there is more… We have an unusual pleasing hasp padlock set with banded Agate and a stunning hand engraved reverse of beautiful scrolls… Giving it even more personality. This is a rare super quality antique Pebble bracelet to enjoy and wear. A great investment piece. Weighs in at a healthy 30.4 grams approx. Condition: In good antique condition for its age just a tiny bit of general wear you would expect on a treasure of this age. With a great patina you only get on vintage and antique jewellery.
