Victorian Scottish Solid Silver Pebble Bracelet w Ornate Padlock w locket Hair Back. Queen Victoria inadvertently attracted tourism to Scotland when she set up house in Balmoral in the 1840s. Her move, coupled with the development of the railways, gave the Scottish season popularity and triggered off the manufacture of local jewellery made of agate or Scottish pebbles (as it is popularly known) to sell to the visitors. This Celtic sterling silver (unmarked but acid tested) banded agate bracelet dates to the late Victorian period and probably brought back as a souvenir for a loved one. The bracelet is handcrafted. We have 6 polished pleasing agate panels with silver decorated fittings. There is a great tactile feel to it…… You just want to touch and hold in your hand. But there is more… We have an unusual pleasing hasp padlock set with banded Agate and a picture locket glass back set with hair… Giving it even more personality. There are hand engraved scrolls to this side of the padlock. This is a rare super quality antique Pebble bracelet to enjoy and wear. I have never seen a better one. Weighs in at a healthy 39.7 grams approx. Condition: In excellent antique condition for its age with a great patina you only get on vintage and antique jewellery. Probably only worn for best. A great addition to any Scottish Pebble Jewellery collection or Victorian mourning hair bracelet collection. Comes in a gift box. AND THANKS FOR STOPPING BY. PLEASE SEE OUR FEEDBACK.
