C1890 ANTIQUE 19thC VICTORIAN SOLID SILVER COLLARETTE CHOKER BOOK CHAIN NECKLACE. A fine antique 19th century Victorian sterling silver. Formed of box or book chain links with a beaded chain link border. The necklace opens easily from a hidden catch within one of the panels, and closes firmly with a satisfying snap. A pendant loop is available at the back of the chain, front and centre, on which to hang a silver locket if desired. There are no silver marks present, which is not unusual for an item of this age and type, but it tests as Sterling silver. Necklace Length: 43.5. Cm or 17 inches. Width of necklace: 1.9.
