Fab Edwardian French Solid Silver & Emerald & Diamond Paste Crescent Brooch, 950. Here is a really fabulous edwardian solid silver & emerald & diamond paste crescent brooch. The brooch is large measuring just under half of an inch by two & a half inches and is all made of high quality thick solid silver. The brooch is shaped in a crescent and is inset with two rows of paste stones with the bottom row white faceted paste stones to look like diamonds & then the top row of green paste stones to look like emeralds. The brooch has a pin and trombone Cclasp working well and it is marked 950 for high grade silver and another sterling silver and looks to be french in origin and dates to the edwardian era & has wear as you would associate with age & wear & a few of the stones have nibbles out of them, but these are not clearly visible, so doesnt detract but just mentioned for total accuracy, see pics, but this really is a lovely example & i havent seen one similiar & just needs a polish. This really is a beautiful brooch in good origional complete condition that looks fabulous worn and a very high quality example of these. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Antique Victorian / Deco Brilliant Paste Crescent Moon Solid Silver Brooch 2.6

I have been collecting paste vintage jewellery for over 30 years, & this is yet another that needs a new home, the workmanship is sublime & this would have cost a kings ransom when bought. This is stunning & screams Deco, though going by the pie-crust finish to the outside of the brooch I would guess that this was Victorian, a glorious narrow soft curved crescent moon, the inner curve being highly polished, the outside curve having a classic’pinched’ Victorian finish, all the stones are set into place & is crafted out of solid silver, s. Tamped 925 at the back, (I have no idea when this stamp was introduced). Ublime, incredibly fine, & quite beautifully designed. Clearly handcrafted throughout & measures exactly 6.7 mm across the length, being a scant 6.44mm across the width of the brooch &, with an internal depth of aprox 2cm 2.5x. There is no area of nasty soldering, no repair marks, even the pin is immaculate. There are 16 pastes & one of them has a minute sliver missing (No7 in from the tip), there are a few other tiny pastes with only the very slightest of touches but they are too small to worry about, & you need a 30x jewellers loop to see them, & considering its age it is in fabulous condition. The workmanship is sublime & uses some of the nicest pastes I have ever seen, they have not become discoloured which is almost unheard of & imagine, paste was more difficult to cut than gems, because they were so much softer. This gorgeous brooch does what it was intended to do. Really comes into its own under artificial light. (I recommend you measure against other brooches you own to give an idea as to the size). Here I have a fine little antique Victorian solid silver stick pin. The head of the pin is shaped as an owl, sitting within a crescent moon. It’s set with tiny little seed pearls upon the owl and the moon, and the owls eyes are garnet gemstones. It’s stamped as SILVER on the back. The head of the pin measures 15mm by 12mm. The total length is 6.1cm. It weighs 1.7 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No missing stones, a couple of the pearls show surface wear and one looks like it may have been replaced but it’s only noticeable on very close inspection. Overall, it just has the usual light surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ.
