Here I have an antique solid silver locket pendant. It features a very ornate hand-engraved ivy leaf pattern on the front. In Victorian symbolism, ivy represented a strong bond between 2 people, whether they were married partners or best friends. On the back is a nicely engraved set of monogrammed initials. Inside , it contains the original glass and frame in one side, and just the frame in the other. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 5.1cm high and 4.0cm wide. Weighs 23.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. The hinge and closure work well and it snaps shut nicely. Overall, it just has the usual light wear and tarnish which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. Here I have a stunning antique solid silver mirrored compact / locket pendant. The colour hasn’t come out well in the photos but the background is a pale mint green guilloche enamel, with handpainted pink roses in the centre. The lid hinges up and the inside has been gilded, with a mirror within the lid. It’s stamped as silver on the ring at the top – the silver standard number is tricky to make out, possibly 935? The main body of the locket (without the ring at the top) measures 3.8cm wide and 1.0cm deep. I t weighs 18.6 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. There are 2 chips to the top layer of clear enamel which are very tricky to capture in the photos but I’ve circled them in pink — they’re only noticeable if you run your finger over them, they’re near impossible to see unless you’re looking extremely closely! The chip on the lid is approx 8mm long and 1.5mm wide and on the base it’s 7mm long by 3.5mm wide. Both are superficial and don’t go down to the coloured enamel below. Aside from this, there’s no other scratching or damage. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. International buyers PLEASE READ. It features a lovely ornate hand-engraved floral design on a raised central panel, with tiers of wirework and chased linear designs below and beaded detailing around the edge. I nside, there’s room for 2 pictures – it still contains the original little frame to hold the photo in place in one side; the other side contains a past owner’s picture… There’s no frame on this side but if you cut the pic to the right size, it will stay put perfectly. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top or the beading around the edge) measures 3.7cm high and 3.0cm wide. It weighs 11.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Hinge and closure work perfectly and it snaps shut nicely. The locket is finished in sterling silver and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1893.. Nicely decorated with floral design.. There are a couple of light age related dinks to the back from normal age/use but otherwise in good condition with a strong hinge. Here I have a fine example of an antique Austro-Hungarian solid silver locket pendant. It’s double sided, what’s known as a day and night locket, as you could turn it round for a different look in the evening. The front is set with Persian turquoise cabochons in a diamond shaped design, with freshwater pearls in the centre and little flower shapes to the outside. The other side is set with flat-cut garnets and pearls, with further silver flowers between.
