Lip Eclipso Solid Silver Watch c1930 VERY RARE. Condition is Exceptional for its age. Made by Lip of Besancon, France. The dial is white with a tapestry border, gold numbers and hands signed Eclipso. This dial is in pristine condition. The crystal looks original and has slightly yellowed. The silver case is marked Eclipso, 0.925, Brevete, Boite Fafriquee Em Suisse, 3873. Case is also marked Eclipso on one side and DN3873 on the other. Back of crystal bezel marked 873. The case button and the Watch crown both have the same knurled design. The case snaps shut and pops open, the hinge is intact and there is a ring on the side for a chain. Case is in good condition, could use a good polishing. The movement is a 263 caliber marked Lip, 263. The watch does not run, the balance is free, sets and winds, just dont run. Needs to be serviced. This is a very handsome, RARE, Lip Eclipso. VERY RARE BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD AND SOLID SILVER POCKET WATCH HOLDER. I present to your consideration this very beautiful and very rare pocket watch holder. The pocket watch holder has a very beautiful classic shape with two columns, a. Pediment and a base. The pediment and the columns base are ornate with very beautiful low relief solid silver embossed work. This embossed work made on the solid silver consists in compositions of vegetable and geometric elements. On the center of the pediment ornament in heart shape there is a cartouche inscribed with the initials «J M»: the lettering is very beautiful. The solid silver ornaments are very detailed, well made and have a classic design. The hook is also solid silver. All the watch holder is entirely made in massive solid Brazilian rosewood (pau-santo) one of the best woods in the world. The Brazilian rosewood is a very heavy and hard wood. Now a day is a protected specimen very hard to fund. The rosewood makes a great contrast with the silver parts and gives a great look. I think that this pocket watch holder was made in the late 19th century. It is in very good condition. It is in perfect condition for today´s use. It stands up firmly. This very beautiful and very rare pocket watch holder is a great addition to your pocket watch collection. Please see the photos that are part of the description. Official Portuguese mark wild boar head for solid silver 833. This mark was used between 1889 and 1938. Maker mark not identified.
