Beautiful Edwardian Quality Solid Silver & Moonstone Festoon Necklace. Here is the most beautiful edwardian quality solid silver & moonstone festoon necklace. The necklace measures around sixteen inches long and is all set in solid silver with a lovely patina to it. This necklace is so beautiful and in a typical early festoon style so it sits lovely worn and is set with seventeen shimmering real moonstones which gradually descend in size with a row of circular moonstones with oval drop stones & then a central long drop & as with the festoon style has silver chain looped drops which all gives a really lovely finish. Each moonstone is set in its own collet setting with the moonstones all polished & cabouchon with their beautiful natural colour of grey, white, silver, and it is joined by lovely silver oval links. The necklace comes complete with a bolt ring clasp working well & is marked for silver and dates very clearly to around the edwardian era and at the top of the chain there is two extra bails, which looks as if the chain has a extender silver chain on which has slightly different links, but it looks fine, but just pointed out for total accuracy, see pics. However this really is a beautiful antique necklace in very good origional complete condition and such a beautiful dainty example of these, that looks fine quality worn. Box in pics not included.
