Collection 35 x SOLID Hallmarked SILVER Medallions British Birds by Peter Scott

Complete Collection 35 Solid SILVER British Bird Medallions by Peter Scott, Minted by John Pinches. Each Medallion measures 51mm diameter and Each Medallion Weighs 66.3g/2.33oz exc. Each Medallion Fully Hallmarked: Passant Lion – Leopard Head (London) date letter’t’ (1974) plus Maker: JP (John Pinches). There are 35 Solid Silver Medallions in Total. All Medallions are within Plastic Capsules and put into Bespoke Frames which slide into the Box. I have photographed as best I can although Silver is very reflective but All are in Very Good Condition. There is some very light toning to some and there is some light damage to some capsules which does not affect the Medallion – one capsule is cracked through (see last photo) this has not affected the Medallion, as this capsule had broken we used this medallion to photograph hallmarks/weight/measurement etc. All medallions are equally the same in hallmark/weight/measurement. Do see all photos.. Unfortunately the Certificate of Authenticity has been Lost/mislaid but all items Fully Hallmarked for Solid Silver. There are also All information leaflets (missing 3) one to each medallion, see photos.. Lovely Original Teak purpose made Box to keep all safe – see photos.. Antique SOLID SILVER Double Sided Day & Night Birds Heron Bug Aesthetic LOCKET

Here I have an antique double sided solid silver locket pendant. It features a beautiful aesthetic period design of a heron with a garden bird flying overhead, and if you look closely there’s a little butterfly in the reeds to the side. On the other side is a lovely spray of flowers (forget-me-nots I think) amongst swirled decoration, with a laurel wreath design around the edge. These double sided lockets were known as day and night lockets as you could turn it around when you changed your clothes for dinner in the evening. It has a large bale at the top, and i nside, it contains the original little frames to hold the photos in place and a past owners photos of a mother and small children. As with many antique pieces, it unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 4.5cm high and 3.6cm wide. With the bale, it’s total length is 6.1cm. It weighs 31.7 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Hinge and closure work perfectly. Just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. Vintage CIRO Rare Nesting Pair Birds Pearl Solid Silver Paste Brooch 19g Nr Mint

This beyond rare, original, as good as undamaged surprisingly heavy 19 grams solid silver & Paste Ciro brooch is an absolute beauty, a pair of doves? Or swallows, highlighted with minute pink eyes, sit either side of a small nest holding 3′ pearl’ eggs. These brooches were expensive, probably half a weeks wages for the average worker, were a token of love, traditionally given as a gift on the birth of a baby & would have been a highly valued & treasured piece in its day, note the design, the female bird to the right sitting quietly & proudly by the nest, the male with wings outspread in a historical form of protection. Beautifully finished throughout with lovely workmanship, & as much care going into finishing off the back as to the front. I have been collecting CIRO for years & this is one of the rarest examples I have seen. The brooch is encrusted with pastes, I have gone over this with a toothcomb & there are only one or two stones which have any nibbles, the pin which also looks to be silver is as straight as a rod. Clearly hand finished throughout, with sublime workmanship, measures exactly 3.7 cm 1.4 in diameter, you can clearly read most of the stamp SCP to the back of the mount & ENGLAND. I have given this only a very light polish, as the back was black & I was desperate to find markings.. There is as good as no sign of wear other than a few of the pasts having been scuffed, with no repair marks, this is fit for the serious Deco / Retro jewellery collector. The pin having a flip-over safety catch, not sure if the pin is silver (they rarely are being that silver is too soft). This does what it was intended to do, to replicate diamonds & looks simply astonishing under artificial light. (I recommend you measure against other brooches you own to give an idea as to the size). Here I have an antique French solid silver bangle bracelet. It features a beautiful engraved decoration with yellow and rose gold overlay – there’s a bird, lily of the valley flowers and butterflies. It fastens with a push-in clasp and it’s got full French silver hallmarks on the tongue of the clasp. All items are sent UNBOXED. Measures 2.0cm across the front and 7 around the inside. Weighs 21.8 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. There are a few minor pressure dinks here and there from past use, the largest one is by the hinge on the back of the bangle. However, the hinge still works perfectly. There’s also a bit of wear to the silver by the clasp, but this also snaps shut perfectly.
