Beautiful LARGE Victorian SOLID Silver Keepsake LOCKET with HAIR Pendant & Chain. WELCOME TO CLASSIQUE JEWELLERY! You are previewing a wonderfully simple, yet still beautiful, solid silver locket from the late 19th Century, c. There are no Hallmarks or stamps that I can find but it has been fully and independently tested to Sterling purity solid silver. It is a large PLAIN locket, polished to both sides, having no decoration. It measures 3.6 cms, 4.8 cms including the bale, by 2.9 cms. It weighs a HEAVY and substantial 13.31 grams, 17.9 grams including the chain. This beauty opens to reveal its real treasure, an all original interior with fittings and glass panels housing sections or woven hair, gold braid and seed pearls. This is almost certainly a LOVE locket and not a memorial piece, to my mind. Of course, this can be used to house keepsakes, photographs, portraits or whatever of your own choosing. It is fitted on a vintage, but much later, Sterling silver chain of inches length that compliments this fine locket well. It is in a good condition, considering that it probably around 140 years old. The hinge and clasp are secure and solid and the interior glass and fittings are all original. There are a couple of pimples that serve to enhance its charm and authenticity in my opinion, rather than detract from what is a wonderful yet simple locket of quality. Dont let it get away! Here I have an antique solid silver locket pendant. It features a very ornate hand-engraved ivy leaf pattern on the front. In Victorian symbolism, ivy represented a strong bond between 2 people, whether they were married partners or best friends. On the back is a nicely engraved set of monogrammed initials. Inside , it contains the original glass and frame in one side, and just the frame in the other. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 5.1cm high and 4.0cm wide. Weighs 23.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Here I have an antique solid silver shield shaped locket pendant. It features an engraved horses head with branches to the sides on the front and ivy leaves to the back. This reversible style was known as a day & night locket as you could swap the sides over when it came to changing in to your evening-wear. The horse side is quite lightly engraved, which made it extremely tricky to capture in the photos! The detail is finer in real life, than I could capture in the pics. There are no innards to this locket, but if you could the pics to the right size, they should stay put. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 3.0cm high and 2.2cm wide. With the bale, it’s total length is 3.7cm. It weighs 6.8 grams. Condition: Good uncleaned antique condition. Some minor dinks and pressure marks front and back, commensurate with its age. Snaps shut nicely and stays closed as it should. Just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. Antique VICTORIAN Solid SILVER Mourning LOCKET Brooch Prince of Wales Hair Curl. A visually stunning, rare, 19th century solid silver mourning locket brooch. The silver is unmarked as was often the case during the period; however it has been professionally jeweller tested. As a long time collector of period mourning jewellery, I had never seen a brooch like this before. It has been exquisitely made by a skilled Victorian silversmith, showing all the’pomp and circumstance’ of an important mourning piece. One is sufficiently impressed with the hugely elaborate front decor; it is then even more captivating to see the mourning locket back. Laid on a ribbed cream silk interior is a beautifully set Prince of Wales hair curl, complete with seed pearls and gold wiring. All immaculate with original glass. The silver tube hinge, pin and’c’ catch are all original and in good working order. Measurements: 1.9″ by 1.5″. In good antique condition; please see all photographs (which can be supersized). Here I have a stunning antique solid silver mirrored compact / locket pendant. The colour hasn’t come out well in the photos but the background is a pale mint green guilloche enamel, with handpainted pink roses in the centre. The lid hinges up and the inside has been gilded, with a mirror within the lid. It’s stamped as silver on the ring at the top – the silver standard number is tricky to make out, possibly 935? The main body of the locket (without the ring at the top) measures 3.8cm wide and 1.0cm deep. I t weighs 18.6 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. There are 2 chips to the top layer of clear enamel which are very tricky to capture in the photos but I’ve circled them in pink — they’re only noticeable if you run your finger over them, they’re near impossible to see unless you’re looking extremely closely! The chip on the lid is approx 8mm long and 1.5mm wide and on the base it’s 7mm long by 3.5mm wide. Both are superficial and don’t go down to the coloured enamel below. Aside from this, there’s no other scratching or damage. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. International buyers PLEASE READ. Here I have an antique double sided solid silver locket pendant. It features a beautiful aesthetic period design of a heron with a garden bird flying overhead, and if you look closely there’s a little butterfly in the reeds to the side. On the other side is a lovely spray of flowers (forget-me-nots I think) amongst swirled decoration, with a laurel wreath design around the edge. These double sided lockets were known as day and night lockets as you could turn it around when you changed your clothes for dinner in the evening. It has a large bale at the top, and i nside, it contains the original little frames to hold the photos in place and a past owners photos of a mother and small children. As with many antique pieces, it unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 4.5cm high and 3.6cm wide. Edwardian Quality Solid Silver, Enamel & Seed Pearl Locket. Here is a lovely edwardian solid silver & seed pearl, enamel locket. The locket measures approx an inch in diameter and is all made of solid silver, although not marked where i can see tested & guarranteed as such. The locket is oval & solid and has black enamelling to the front with the centre having a typical early silver star shape which is nicely inset with real seed pearls, which gives a lovely effect. This locket has a photo compartment to the back which has a photo of an elderly gemtleman which is covered in glass, it then opens to the side of this to either put another 2 photos inside or is deep enough to put in keepsakes etc & there is some photos already in there of children & when you close this it closes nice & tight & secure. It has a good size bail for attatching a chain & and dates to the edwardian- art deco era & just has marks as you would expect with wear.
