This delightful locket dates from around 1880 and is sterling silver, unmarked but tests fine. The chain is 24 inches, sterling silver too and the catch is strong the chain dates to around the 1930′s. The locket is in good condition and it closes tightly. It measures 3.1cm (1 1/4 inch) across by 4.2cm (just over 1 1/2 inch) down not including the bail and together with the chain weighs 27.5g. The locket has raised letters AEI on the front, this stands for Affinity, Eternity, and Infinity. This was a popular type of love token among the Victorians. A wonderful Victorian solid silver collar and locket. The collar measures 17 inches in length (excluding fastener) and 1.1cm wide. It is decorated with’bobbles’ and discs with stars, all present. The collar can be worn on its own or with the locket which measures approx 5.5cm long (including bale) and 3.2cm wide. The locket is decorated with a Star design, scalloped and patterned edges and the reverse is etched beautifully with a chased pattern and Morning Glory flowers. The back is marked with a full Birmingham hallmark for 1884 and maker A&L, Adie & Lovekin of Frederick Street, Birmingham, England. The inserts are present to add a picture of your choice. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. The hinge is good and it shuts securely. This is a wonderful original Victorian collar and locket. Here I have a fine example of an antique Austro-Hungarian solid silver locket pendant. It’s double sided, what’s known as a day and night locket, as you could turn it round for a different look in the evening. The front is set with Persian turquoise cabochons in a diamond shaped design, with freshwater pearls in the centre and little flower shapes to the outside. The other side is set with flat-cut garnets and pearls, with further silver flowers between. The bale also features turquoise and pearls and it can turned so it sits at the front for both sides of the locket. Inside, the locket is gilded and there’s room for 2 pictures, behind the original glass slip covers and removable silver frames. It’s marked with Austro-Hungarian hallmark and maker’s stamp on the ring holding the bale. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 3.2cm long. With the bale at the top, it’s total length is 4.3cm. It weighs 19.7 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it snaps shut nicely. Here I have a stunning antique solid silver locket pendant. It features duck egg blue guilloche enamel, with handpainted pink roses and a gold dot in the centre. Inside, there’s space for 2 photos and the original removable silver frames and little plastic covers are all present. It’s hallmarked as silver on the ring holding the bale and it hangs on an unusual greek key linked 16 silver chain with hook and eye fastening. The chain is hallmarked as 800 grade silver on a ring by the clasp. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top) measures 2.5cm wide and 0.5cm deep. With the ring at the top, it’s total length is 3.1cm. With the chain, it weighs 8.3 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. No enamel chips or cracks, just a few minute surface scratches which are only visible under very close inspection. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. Overall, it just has the usual surface marks and tarnish to the silver which you’d expect on an antique item. International buyers PLEASE READ. A wonderful huge and heavy Victorian solid silver collar and locket. The collar measures 17.5 inches in length (excluding fastener) and 1.7cm wide. It is decorated with large and small’bobbles’ and discs with stars, all present. The collar can be worn on its own or with the matching extender piece which measures 3.2cm long (excluding fastener) and holds the huge locket which measures approx 7cm long (including matching bale) and 4cm wide. The locket is decorated with a buckle and etched beautifully with a chased pattern with a matching bale. The bale is marked STDS. The locket opens and shuts well and contains fittings to add photos of your choice. There is no glass and a few tiny pin prick dings to the locket which could be smoothed out by a jeweller. Here I have a stunning antique solid silver mirrored compact / locket pendant. The colour hasn’t come out well in the photos but the background is a pale mint green guilloche enamel, with handpainted pink roses in the centre. The lid hinges up and the inside has been gilded, with a mirror within the lid. It’s stamped as silver on the ring at the top – the silver standard number is tricky to make out, possibly 935? The main body of the locket (without the ring at the top) measures 3.8cm wide and 1.0cm deep. I t weighs 18.6 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. There are 2 chips to the top layer of clear enamel which are very tricky to capture in the photos but I’ve circled them in pink — they’re only noticeable if you run your finger over them, they’re near impossible to see unless you’re looking extremely closely! The chip on the lid is approx 8mm long and 1.5mm wide and on the base it’s 7mm long by 3.5mm wide. Both are superficial and don’t go down to the coloured enamel below. Aside from this, there’s no other scratching or damage. The hinge and closure work perfectly and it clicks shut nicely. International buyers PLEASE READ. Antique VICTORIAN Solid SILVER Mourning LOCKET Brooch Prince of Wales Hair Curl. A visually stunning, rare, 19th century solid silver mourning locket brooch. The silver is unmarked as was often the case during the period; however it has been professionally jeweller tested. As a long time collector of period mourning jewellery, I had never seen a brooch like this before. It has been exquisitely made by a skilled Victorian silversmith, showing all the’pomp and circumstance’ of an important mourning piece. One is sufficiently impressed with the hugely elaborate front decor; it is then even more captivating to see the mourning locket back. Laid on a ribbed cream silk interior is a beautifully set Prince of Wales hair curl, complete with seed pearls and gold wiring. All immaculate with original glass. The silver tube hinge, pin and’c’ catch are all original and in good working order. Measurements: 1.9″ by 1.5″. In good antique condition; please see all photographs (which can be supersized). Here I have an antique solid silver Victorian locket pendant. It features a lovely ornate hand-engraved floral design on a raised central panel, with tiers of wirework and chased linear designs below and beaded detailing around the edge. I nside, there’s room for 2 pictures – it still contains the original little frame to hold the photo in place in one side; the other side contains a past owner’s picture… There’s no frame on this side but if you cut the pic to the right size, it will stay put perfectly. As with many antique pieces, it’s unmarked but tests as solid silver. The main body of the locket (without the bale at the top or the beading around the edge) measures 3.7cm high and 3.0cm wide. It weighs 11.5 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. Hinge and closure work perfectly and it snaps shut nicely. There are a few minor dinks here and there but they’re mostly to the back, and a few of the beads around the edge are slightly dinked. International buyers PLEASE READ.
