Here I have an antique Victorian solid silver book chain / collar necklace. It features a double row of belcher links, with round discs pierced with stars joining the rows, and hand engraved discs below. It fastens with an oversized bolt ring which could be used to hang a locket, or it can be worn alone as a striking necklace. Unmarked but guaranteed solid silver. I have lots of wonderful Victorian period lockets in my shop which would look fabulous with this book chain! The chain wears at 15.25 inches long including the clasp. The chain is 16mm wide across the front from the top of the links to the bottom of the engraved discs. It weighs 22.9 grams. Condition: Very good uncleaned antique condition. One of the little star discs is missing and a few others show slight wear, commensurate with its age. Overall, it just has the minor signs of wear which you’d expect on an antique item.
