Here I have an antique solid silver target brooch, featuring an unusual Japanese Shakudo mixed metal plaque in the centre. The plaque depicts a gold snake, sitting on the ground amongst grasses – the snake is beautifully modelled, when you look under magnification his detail is wonderful. The side of the brooch is decorated with silver beading and on the back there’s a glazed compartment for keeping a picture or lock of hair close to your heart. It has a c-clasp brooch fitting and it’s stamped as silver on the back. There’s another mark at the bottom but it’s tricky to make out. All items are sent UNBOXED, in an organza gift bag. Measures 3.1cm across the brooch, including the beading to the sides. The plaque is 1.7cm wide. Weighs 7.7 grams. Very good uncleaned antique condition. The Shakudo is in very good condition with minimal rubbing to the snake. The locket compartment fits in its recess tightly. Overall, it just has the usual light marks and wear commensurate with its age. International buyers PLEASE READ.
